college pathwayThe College Pathway Program (CPP) is a 36-week program that prepares students to pursue higher education (post High School) in the United States.

To complete this program, students must take three classes - Oral Communication, Reading and Writing Skills, each of which is 18 hours a week for 12 weeks

Academic English 1: Oral Communication

Course Goal: This course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to effectively communicate within an academic context through rigorous participation in authentic college lectures, analyses of verbal, visual, and auditory texts, interaction with research, and in critical thinking experiences. 

Academic English 2: Writing 

Course Goal: This course aims to equip students with the necessary skills to effectively write within an academic context through rigorous participation in analyses, research and critical thinking experiences. 

Academic English 3: Reading 

Course Goal: The purpose of the Academic Reading class is to equip students with the necessary skills to become active readers. Throughout this course students are expected to decode, interpret, and use other skills to achieve understanding. Furthermore, this course prepares students for the TOEFL course.

At the end of this course, students will complete a challenging “Capstone” project. This is a final project that will require synthesizing the skills learned in all courses.

Class Types: 

  • In Person (required for F-1 visa students)
  • Hybrid, consisting of in person class attendance and online attendance (available only to non- F1 students)
  • 100% Online (available only to non-F1 students) 

Placement Criteria:

  • Students take a placement test to determine their point-of-entry if they have not naturally progressed through our programs. Students must be at B2+/C1 on the CEFR scale to participate in this program.
